Alright, so this is something I really wished existed when I was a student. Speechify. It’s basically a read-aloud app. You can listen to your books, notes, and research papers as an audiobook. As a student, we have to get a lot done in a very short amount of time.

In such situations, Speechify can really be useful. You listen to your books while traveling or while working out. Studying can often be interesting if you can pair it up with something you enjoy. This app is fairly simple.

You can add the text you want to listen to and it will read it out to you. And don’t worry, it doesn’t have that annoying AI Voice. You can even have Snoop Dogg as your narrator if you want to. It gives you various options to choose from. You can also change the narration speed as per your liking. This will allow you to finish off your workbooks fast.

You can either scan your documents or you can simply upload PDFs and it will read them out for you as well. Here is a demo for you. Now let’s take a look at some note-taking apps for iPad. But before that, I wanted to showcase a whiteboard app as it can really be useful. I recently gave Freeform a try. It’s a default whiteboard app by Apple but I wasn’t really impressed.

I don’t think this app even has palm rejection as I really faced this issue. Hence I switched back to concepts. It simply offers so much more. It’s a whiteboard app, which means that you have an infinite canvas to note down your ideas.

This app can be super useful for planning. But I would somewhat use it in a different way. When I was a student I used to have a notebook where I just used to write down random thoughts that used pop in my mind.

Most of these thoughts used to be totally irrelevant and a waste of time. Random thoughts like, who won the last F1 Race? What was the name of the song I heard in the bathroom? What is Miss Mia unto these days?

But the thing is that if you don’t address these random thoughts it will keep reappearing in your mind. Again and again and again. Simply write them down here to reflect on them later. Once you are done you will realize that the majority of them didn’t need any attention at all.

Try it sometime it can be super useful. If you are a creator or if you have some kind of side hustle, I recommend you have one. Then this can be useful in that matter. Simply free your mind and note down what your heart desires, this app won’t judge you.

Goodnotes 6

GoodNotes 6 is next up. It’s simply one of the best note-taking apps for the iPad. They just released a new version and have added a whole lot of features that can really helpful. GoodNotes has great writing experience hence you can take your class notes very easily over here.

This app will surely help you make the most of your Apple Pencil. You can switch between different page layouts and colors as per your need and also you can organize your notes into different folders and notebooks. You can organize your notes as per your different subjects this way.

It has a lot of customization options, you can simply customize it as per your liking to make it your own. You can download different templates from their marketplace. GoodNotes also has a Text tab now, you will be able to type your notes if you want to. They also added this segment called Exam Prep.

If you are preparing for the SAT or any of the other exams it offers then it can really come in useful and it also offers an AI Maths Assistant which can help you solve your math problems. Do give this app a try if you are in the market looking for a handwritten note-taking app.

Todoist: To-Do List & Planner

finally, we have the Todoist app. In the Todoist app, you can simply add your tasks and manage them from here. The thing What I like the most about Todoist is that it supports a simple language. You can simply type finish your chemistry homework on Saturday at 4 pm and it will create a time-based task for you.

On top of that, it’s very easy to create recurring tasks like practicing algebra every Tuesday at 10 am. You can also divide your tasks into different projects in order to manage them more efficiently. It is a cross-platform app, the desktop variant of this app also makes it super convenient to reschedule tasks.

Google Calendar: Get Organized

Talking about managing time and tasks. I have tried out various apps for time blocking or calendar blocking to fix my schedule. Following a routine is really important as a student if you want to make the most of your time. After trying 100s of apps I am simply back to using Google Calendar.

I often underestimate this app and always look for other options. But then I realized all of them are simply unnecessary. Why do you have to pay for a subscription just to access a simple and basic thing like a calendar? Hence I am back using that.

It is super easy to create time blocks in your calendar and create a routine for yourself. If you haven’t tried out the calendar blocking method then I highly recommend that you give it a try once. Try planning for your schedule for tomorrow.
